Dear Valued Customer:
Several weeks ago I posted a letter on our website regarding the Chrysler Bankruptcy in the United States. Many of you were concerned about the various news reports in the media and wanted to know how this could affect Albertans. I explained, although the parent corporation was in Bankruptcy Protection, Chrysler Canada was a separate company and would continue operations as usual.
I am pleased to report the parent company has now been released from bankruptcy and has merged with Italian automaker Fiat. Operations idled during the reorganization will soon be up and running. The New Chrysler is a stable and well financed company.
Chrysler is a much stronger company today than it was just a few months ago. Fiat's CEO Sergio Marchionne, who is taking over as CEO of Chrysler Group LLC, said in a recent interview, "Work is already underway on developing new environmentally friendly, fuel-efficient, high-quality vehicles that we intend to become Chrysler's hallmark going forward."
We do anticipate continued strong sales at Sherwood Park Dodge throughout the summer. Although we still have a good selection of 2009 models and one of the largest inventories in Canada of late model used vehicles, we may experience a shortage of new product this fall.
To ensure we are able to satisfy demand for the 2010 models, we are now taking pre-orders. Please contact one of our staff for details.
Notably, sales at Sherwood Dodge have actually increased during the Chrysler transition, thanks to the continued support from our customers through this challenging time. I appreciate your business – thank you!
Sincerely,
Scott Held
